i just searched for some good dub music on the net (by typing "netlabel dub" @ google ^^) and found pda...

I haven't heard everything I downloaded yet, but I'm really surprised by THeAnGelZ. there are some heavy tracks like "Illusion".

anyway... here's my question. are there some detailed information on the artists releasing on this label? it would be interesting to get to know the artists behind the music...

I am not member of the collectif but I come usually in this forum.
And I can say to you in a near futur it will have more informations about the artists of PDA in the english version of this website.
It's planned by THeAnGelZ.

THeAnGelZ - Who, Why, How ?

Who ?

Nicolas, webmaster of this website, born in Besancon, and now commuter (92) since 2004. I started playing music at the age of 10-11, beggining with sax, then i learned piano, and for a few time, i started playing bass.
I am currently student.I've got fiv children, and i'm seeking a mother for 'em, I also posess a AK47 (serial number 19A8546).

Why ?

For Money, pounds, dollars, love, power, rambo, and ...(how can i translate "veaux aux olives" in english ?! this man's jokes are strange...the translator)
but ... everything coming together ... execpt rambo perhaps

How ?

Cubase SX, lots of VST, a little behringer, a M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 soundcard, A yamaha psr-230 that i use as master keyboard, a bass, an accoustic guitar, an old strat (lent by yannis), a few behringer microphones , a Thomann melodica, and a few gadgets... and of course also inspiraton (when i get)

Who ?

Jacin is a soundmaker coming from "Cote d’Ivoire".
he is ina du reggae-dub music since 1998, and he is also a DJ in the« 109 Pour La Rime » rap crew. He used to be a dj for the « Le RESO » crew in Abidjan. Plays keyboard for reggae music crew in Marseille but also mélodica and sound ingeneer. Currently works on a project called « Zulu Tribes ».

Why ?
because everybody on earth as something special, and also, the main reason is that I LOVE sound.

How ?
Groove Box MC 505, Korg Le, BR-864 BOSS, un SM 57, Reason 2.5, Acid 4.0. But the first thing is the inspiration given by jah the most high.

born in june, 19th 1977.
Coming from marroco and france, i discovered the other side of the music in 1996, introduced to the sampling art by a friend.
I've first been interessed by funk and hiphop, that's why i baught a bass.
and then... started the adventure !
in 1998 i started a few tunes with rebirth and cubase.
I tried multiples ways, easy ones and harder others, and then i discovered Reason, that is perfect for my needs.
In 2004, i discovered versionist.com, and everything began!

Why?
Because ... i love sharing what i do, and i love to create artistic's emotions.. and... because i love chinese movies !

Who ?

a pair of guys had the idea to create a dub duo.
but ... not really, but likely ....
One grows up with house, the other is a techno DJ, reggae addict...
strange weeding isn't it ?!
they can't do something else that dub music !

Created in 2004, volfoniq found what they want to do easily.
they mix digital reggae, breakbeats, oldies, linked by sound effetcs, guitar riffs...
They did a few live acts : Rencontres Electroniques(2005, september), and work in a lot of projects :
"Agrum" (compilation) ,remixes for grooveskajazz band "Oust Louba".

why ?

Ahah ! I have to ask ...

how ?

their setup :a guitar (abd the man comin' with: Lebenn),
that would have been easy, except that there also is a lots of small boxes that do stranges noises when you pull dem...
so, sometimes, you can ask yourself where this damn guitar is in their musical story...

for the machines :
a groovebox for sampling mixed live on a digital consol abusing on delay and reverb. All is done by a crazy scientist (PakuPaku) that have no fear.

j'espere ne pas avoir fait trop de fautes
